This is a role playing game featuring the mythical creatures called dragons.

You create you're characters under ::Bios, using the form provided. Once approved, you "role play". Basically you take turns interacting with the other players, weaving complex story lines.
Ex. -these are not real players or a real story line.-
Player1: Myrath limped into the massive clearing, his torn wings dragging behind him. He sniffed the air, ready for another fight and waiting for the rest of his pride to find him.

Player2: Jergaal circled above the forest, desperatly searching for his fallen friend. He had seen the battle from a distance. The two dragons had been battling in the sky, taking turns clawing, biting, and breathing fire at one another. Finally the other dragon tore Myrath's wing, and caused him to plummet towards the earth.
-end of example-

See how the two stories coincide with each other? Player1's character is called Myrath, while Player2's character is call Jergaal.

Aella: Listen to me, my Socitey, our enemies have just made the pefect mistake.

Nefertari: Why aren't you stunned by my charm and beauty?!

Gewleah: I believe. . .that you believe you can do it!

Ryuu: Rawr?!

Sorin: Laughter is my light.

Fleurella:My. . .eggs. . .are g-gone.

A continued introduction!

Some people are not familiar with what we call "role-playing" and what is called role-playing by several other sites that I know of. This is not an animated "male sword-swinging" (as my friend Beowulf calls it +D) role play. This is where you use words and realistic reasoning to put together fun plots through interactions between characters.

Some quick terms you need to know for a forum:
Category, Board, Sub-board, thread.

When you first look at the main body of this site, what you'll see is a whole series of boards. Boards are grouped into categories, which are marked by big titles.

When you click on a board, you'll come to a new menu. Depending on which board you pick, you will either come across a couple of new sub-divisions called threads or yet another series of larger sub-divisions called sub-boards. Sub-boards are exactly what they sound like; a sub-division of a board. Threads are the smallest sub-division there is; they can stay by themselves under a board or be grouped under a sub-board. A thread is the actual writing you do; what you are looking at right now is a post in the thread "Introduction".

Now that you've got basic forum lingo down, let's move on to actually posting and joining into plots.

The first thing you need to do when you join this site is to read the rules (reading this isn't required but it could help...). In the rules you will find the magical rules code. Remember it. Now what you need to do is create a character. I would suggest only starting with two characters until you get the hang of posting and such, and then make more later.

To create a character, you look under the board "Bios". You'll find a locked and stickied thread called "Bios Form". You need to copy this form and fill it out for your character, then post the finished form under the board Bios. Then, you wait until either I or Zahran approve your bios form. Once your bios (your character) is accepted, then you get to play as your character. You can play many different characters on your same Dragon's Element account.

To get started in plotlines and the like, I would highly suggest reading older posts and getting a feel for how people have played their characters. Then go to the board "Plot Chat". You can post your own idea for a plot and get other players support, or join in an existing plot there.

DRAGON SPECIFICATIONS

It is important that we specify what we at Dragon's Element believe a dragon is, so that everyone is talking about the same creature.

A dragon has a head like a lizard. The head is about three feet at its length from snout to the back of the head. A dragon has gigantic fangs and can eject fire from, and only from, its mouth at will. A dragon can have some form of short horns on its head and short spikes running down its backbone, but it is up to the player's discretion whether or not to give these to their character.

A dragon is covered from head to toe in rock-hard, shiny scales that can be any color in the rainbow. A dragon's head is linked to its torso by a long, snake-like neck. From its torso are four legs arranged like your typical mammal to keep the creature upright. Each leg has a broad foot, which has three claws, which also come in any color. If a dragon has horns, the horns/spikes and claws are the same color. The dragon's torso has two massive, eagle-like feathered wings that are the same color as the claws, and possibly headspikes/horns. The dragon has a long, snakelike tail with an armored tip.

Dragons are immortal unless they die of disease or being attacked.

Dragons begin their life as an egg, which is laid by the female in a nest on the ground, much like a bird. A female can lay anywhere from one to three eggs at one time. When a dragon first hatches, it is called a nestling or a hatchling. A dragon can eat meat from the moment it hatches; the mother does not nurse it. When a dragon is three months old, it is called a draglet and is allowed by the mother to walk outside of the nest, but it still can't survive on its own. A draglet stays by its mother until it is five years old, when it is fully physically matured. In a Troupe, the draglet goes through a ceremony where it is accepted as a mature adult and a full member of the Society in a Troupe. A dragon can't breathe fire until it is five years old.

Dragons can't mate until they're five years old. Dragons take a single mate for as long as they please, whether it be a day or a century. One dragon couple can have one nest of eggs per every ten years.
