Rayshella nodded and watched her mate walk away. She turned to another section of the valley, a relatively large grove of small, young pine and oak and maple trees that were shaped like a semi-circle. In the center of the grove was where Mountain females made their nests for their eggs.

Rayshella had some moss gathered in a heap that she had collected earlier, and she started to mold the moss into a fluffy, comfortable nest. She tore small branches off of nearby trees, gathered old leaves, and massed it all together.

Rayshella looked down at her nest, and realized she was severely wanting some moss; the kind that grew on rocks. She shivered a little, wondering if she should risk leaving the troupe nest with her eggs due any day. Eh, what's the worst that could happen? Rayshella spread her wings and took off, flying over the mountains and hunting for her moss.
